Talking about family
Talking about family, in English:
1. Nuclear family - A small family – usually just a mother, father and kids.
(विभक्त कुटुंब - एक छोटेसे कुटुंब ज्यातफक्त आई, वडील आणि मुले असतात.)
2. Extended Family - A family that extends beyond the nuclear family, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives, who all live nearby or in one household.
(विस्तारित कुटुंब - असे कुटुंब जे विभक्त कुटुंबापेक्षा विस्तारित असते, यामध्ये आजी-आजोबा, आत्या, काका आणि इतर लोक जवळपास किंवा एकाच घरात राहतात.)
3. Joint family - A type of extended family composed of parents, their children, and the children's spouses and offspring in one household.
(एकत्र कुटुंब - अशा प्रकारचे विस्तारित कुटुंब ज्यामध्ये पालक, त्यांची मुले, त्यांचे पती/पत्नी व त्यांची मुलेबाळे एकाच घरात राहतात.)
4. Single-parent family - Either a mother or a father and kids. A single parent family comprises of only one parent.
(एकच पालक असणारे कुटुंब - अशा कुटुंबात आई किंवा वडील यांपैकी एकच जण आणि त्यांची मुले असतात.)
5. Ancestor/ forefather - One from whom a person is descended and who is usually more remote in the line of descent than a grandparent.
(वाडवडील)
6. Siblings (brothers and sisters) - Each of two or more children having one or both parents in common; a brother or sister.
(भावंडे - सख्खे भाऊ-बहिणी)
7. Stepbrother or stepsister - The child of a stepparent and another person who is not genetically-related to you.
(सावत्र भाऊ अथवा बहीण)
8. Half-sibling - Someone who shares one genetic parent with you.
(एकच पालक समान असणारे भाऊ/बहीण)
9. Second Cousins - The children of your siblings are your niece (girl) or nephew (boy) and the children of your cousins we call your second cousins.
(तुमच्या भावंडांच्या मुलांना भाची (मुलगी), भाचा (मुलगा) असे म्हणतात.)
10. In-laws - The relatives of a person whom you are married to are your in-laws.
(विवाहामुळे झालेले नातेवाईक)
11. Descendant: A person who is related to you and who lives after you, such as your child or grandchild
(तुमच्यानंतर तुमची मुले किंवा नातवंडांना वंशज असे म्हणतात)
